It’s a quarter to 3 in the morning and I have woken up to have questions answered and I wanted to share them with you as encouragement in the Lord.
God loves families…and families are meant to come together to live for the Lord. Families come in all shapes and sizes in our time: They might have a Mom and Dad and kids, only one parent, or grandparents, a husband and wife after all the kids are gone, or husband and wife and pets that are treated like their children, one person left trying to make it independently, or just a husband and wife starting a new life together. No matter what size or shape, all families are important to the Lord.
Here at Pentecostal Power Ministries, that’s exactly what we are…family…and there’s room for more! When you come to visit this family, you will be treated as family and loved as the Lord has intended. We get together a lot. New Years Eve prayer service, bon fires, movie nights, game nights, camping and picnics just to name a few. Worship and prayer are cornerstones in our walk and we would love to include you!
Here is something worth reading to help each of our families to be more like Jesus. He was known for helping others realize what they are worth in the eyes of the Lord. Apply it to your heart and strive to always be known for the hope that comes from within and expressed in a good report!
Proverbs 15:30 The light of the eyes rejoiceth the heart: and a good report maketh the bones fat.
I don’t know about you, but I must have good reports just begging to flow out of me! But all kidding aside, I am here to tell you what I understand of my good report.
In Acts 10:22 And they said, Cornelius the centurion, a just man, and one that feareth God, and of good report among all the nation of the Jews, was warned from God by an holy angel to send for thee into his house, and to hear words of thee.
Acts 22:12 And one Ananias, a devout man according to the law, having a good report of all the Jews which dwelt there,...
These verses are talking about how others see us, whether it be our words or actions or just God’s work in us being allowed to show through from lessons we have learned or trials that we have faced or are facing. Some things He has taught me is that as Sis Cathy sings all my tomorrows must pass by the Lord. It’s just like His story to us about Job, the enemy is the prince of the air and will come and see what you say or how you react to certain temptations or just simply say to God: Just let this happen in their lives and the praise will end…no more worship. And that’s when God will answer him saying: “I will allow this situation to happen in their lives because I already know the outcome, I already know that they will hold steadfast to Me in their time of need and trials. No matter what, they will still love Me and rely on Me to take them thru it. They will see you for what you are—a liar and a cheat—and will still praise Me in spite of everything. They are my child and trust in Me.”
1 Timothy 3:7 says that: Moreover he must have a good report of them which are without; lest he fall into reproach and the snare of the devil.
That says to me when we have trials and temptations come our way, we need to fall to our knees in fasting and prayer as God has told us to do in His word. We can stand up for the Lord and believe that there is something that He wants us to learn here and trust Him to see us thru. We can bring our troubles to the elders and receive prayer, too, if need be. We can be honest in what we are going thru and come together as a church body against the enemy and his tricks that try to sway our faith. What I see when things come my way now is a green light to becoming closer to my Lord and that He has something for me to understand…to become a better Christ-like individual for Him and His purpose. No matter what comes our way, whether it be even death or anything else coming against us, we need to hold onto the promises of the Lord. He tells us in His word in
Proverbs 15:10 Correction is grievous unto him that forsaketh the way: and he that hateth reproof shall die.
Proverbs 15:32 He that refuseth instruction despiseth his own soul: but he that heareth reproof getteth understanding.
2 Timothy 3:16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness...
When you don’t understand what is happening in your life and if you have anything like my human nature, you are having the faith that God will bring you thru but are still asking why in the midst of the circumstance, don’t dwell on self pity. There is a fine line between wonder and worry. Don’t dwell on the situation you are facing and its details, take God’s instructions in His word and let Him create a work in you and bring you through it. He is not trying to make you suffer, He is having faith in you as His child that you will hold to His promises that He has given us. He is letting us know that He cares for us and has faith in our walk with Him. He sees and allows the trial so we can become one with Him and can use it for the glory of the Lord. I know it’s hard to look away from the negative and the problem.
But it says in Philippians 4:8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.
If we give Him praise in all things, if we give Him glory and honor regardless of what we are going thru, we can be an example to others; we can leave a testimony unto the people of the world. If we truly believe in our hearts that: Lord, I don’t know how You are going to work this out, but I know You are and You want what is best for me. If there is a lesson here that I need to learn please help me understand what it is.
No matter what, I am going to love You and I’m going to need You. I give it to You Lord to do with as You will, and use me for Your glory. I will worship You in spite of everything. You will continue to get all my praise. There is power in answered prayer. Sometimes we just need to know what to pray and that is always God’s will first and foremost.
The Word tells us in III John 1:12 Demetrius hath good report of all men, and of the truth itself: yea, and we also bear record; and ye know that our record is true.
I want to be one of those people like Jesus talks about in the Bible that was faithful and just in all things and of good report. I don’t want to be a bad example of what not to do, but one that worshiped the Lord with her whole heart regardless of what was going on in her life…no matter what.
