Kids’ prayer seeks to ways to actively engage children in praying without ceasing. Many times the strategies used in Kids’ Prayer teaches children how to engage in prayer when playing with friends, toys, or coloring/drawing. We teach the importance of worship, praying in Jesus name, praying God’s Word, Kingdom praying, and praying on the armor of God.
Here are some areas to focus on when incorporating prayer at home, these are also key areas often focused on in Kids' Prayer sessions.
-Weapon Training - memorizing scriptures;
-Kingdom Praying - praying for others first; and being Battle Ready - praying on the armor of God.
You can help your child enhance their prayer life by praying with them at home and establishing a daily or weekly family prayer time outside of bedtime prayers. Allow your child to help lead the family in prayer, letting them share what they learn in class. Allow time for listening as well as talking, even writing down a few family prayers. You, your children, and the kingdom of God will be blessed beyond measure as you seek to hear his voice together, allowing prayer to impact your home in ways you never imagined!
*Tip: The Bible says to pray always, or pray without ceasing; alternate how you "end" prayers, teaching your children that "Amen" doesn't mean the prayer is over. The term "Amen" means/implies "so be it!" It is a command, not a "closing salutation" and is oftentimes used incorrectly.
"my desire is that you, your family, and the children in your lives find yourselves abundantly blessed in and because of prayer"
