Our Church History
In March of 1996, Dewayne. C. Presson and his wife, Tammy arrived in Warrenton and began leading a group of about 9 people from a storefront, the beginnings of a church family that would evolve into Pentecostal Power Ministries today. Two years later, with about 30 in attendance, the church moved to a new location on S. Market Street. This new location had a seating capacity of 60 and would give us a dedicated building to be used for the glory of God. With God's blessings we were able to purchase the property for the exact amount of money we had in our building fund at that time. It was a rather old building, about 100 years old, but would help us make our presence known within the downtown community, and it would be ours. Because it would need renovation, New Life Center our mother church at that time, loaned us additional funds to renovate the building and add central heating & a/c. Without their helping hand and encouragement PPMs journey would have been more tedious and a greater struggle. Through our combined efforts we saw many souls touched and lives changed while ministering in that facility.
After seeing our attendance grow to an average of 50 and having very limited parking we began to prayerfully look for land in Warrenton for a future church facility. With God's direction and again New Life Centers backing we were able secure 7.45 acres in the city limits of Warrenton. Our church leadership felt that even if it wasn't property that we would build on in the future it would serve as a good investment for a future building wherever God would lead us.
New Direction (2003-2007)
In 2003 one of our board members, Jimmy Presson noticed a church building and 3.5 acres for sale located about 2.5 miles from our present location on S. Hwy 47. This location would give us our own parking lot, a newer building (14 years old), an auditorium that seats 75, a kitchen, 2 classrooms, a nursery, one office, and land to expand our facilities as God blesses.
Continuing The Vision (2007-Present)
In the fall of 2007, with an average attendance of 70 and a record attendance of 89, we began to make plans to expand our present facility. We were in need of additional classrooms to expand our children's ministries and accommodate personalized curriculum, in the area of Discipleship, Young Marrieds, Finances, etc., to meet the needs of our church assembly as the needs arise. We began our church building campaign "Arise & Build" and with the financial commitment of our church family we embarked on building a 6,500 sq ft expansion, which would include 6 classrooms, auditorium to seat 210, enhanced multimedia capabilities and a pastors office. This will also allow us to convert our present auditorium into a nice multi-purpose room to be used for fellowship, children's ministry, youth events & married social events. It will also give us an additional room to be used as a ministerial office for various ministry leaders.
This phase was completed in Feb 2009. As we continue our building campaign, we will complete the additional phases; renovating the bathroom facilities (2016), landscaping & a new parking lot (2017). Now we look to the future with anticipation in what God has in store. Our heartfelt desire is that you will come and grow with us!
