New
Life believes in families and knows the importance of doing
everything we can to strengthen them. A couple makes for a happy
family and a happier world. Couples today face a multitude of
issues from all different directions. We agree with Dr. James
Dobson, when he said: "Family is the fundamental
building block of all human civilizations. Marriage is the glue
that holds it together. The health of our culture, its citizens
and their children is intimately linked to the health and
well-being of marriage."
It is our desire to help couples become stronger in their
relationships with each other and their children. Our goal is to
offer seminars/training dealing with real life issues and events
and based on biblical principles. Throughout each year we will
strive to make these seminars available to you and your family
dealing with topics such as: Marriage, Troubled Youth, Single
Parenting, Finances, Recovering from divorce, etc.
With that in mind "Pentecostal Power Ministries, a ministry
within our church, is proud to offer "Making Marriage
Work" a biblical look at marriage. Whether you are single,
happily married, or wanting to improve your relationship, these
lessons and real-life stories will give you Biblical and
practical tips to help you cultivate a healthy and happy
marriage.
The
following topics will be presented:
MYTHS — The belief in a happily-ever-after marriage is
one of the most widely held and destructive myths about
marriage. But it is only the top of the marital-myth
iceberg. This episode of Making Marriage Work will help
take the unrealistic expectation and misguided assumptions out
of marriage.
PRESSURE — No Matter how strong a marriage is, it is
not invulnerable. Bad things happen to the best of marriages.
How do you handle the financial pressure, relocation, infidelity
or even
the loss of a child?
This episode of Making
Marriage Work offers encouraging ways to survive the most
heartbreaking crises a marriage can endure.
CONFLICT — Misunderstandings are a natural part of
marriage. No matter how deeply a man and woman love each other,
they will eventually have struggles. Stressed-out, dual-career
couples today have more to negotiate than ever, and the
potential for conflict is at every turn. This
episode of Making Marriage Work will explore the common
issues that trip up marriages.
FAITH — There is more to a thriving marriage than good
communication and conflict resolution. Marriage is not a machine
that needs routine maintenance to keep it function, but a
supernatural event founded upon a mutual exchange of holy
pledges. This
episode of Making Marriage Work will show the need for
spiritual intimacy and its deep meaning to marriage.
The final two lessons will be interactive Bible Studies on the
topics of: “It’s Your Serve” & “Marriage Soup”. We
know that this time spent together will be a great blessing and
at $10.00 per couple or individual, the cost in minimal.
